2019 Homebrew Competition

Thank you for your interest in the 2019 Bike Brew Q Homebrew Competition presented by Golden Belt Bicycle! Competition Date - July 27th, 2019.

Judging Classes


Class 1

This class will be judged by a selection of Professional Brewers attending the Craft Beer Expo. Entries will be limited to BJCP 2015 21A American IPA (Style Info). This competition will have 1 overall winner and 2 honorable mentions to be announced at the Craft Brew Expo (Starting at 1pm)


Class 2

This class is open for any and all styles. This class will be judged by VIP attendees with 1 overall winner and 2 honorable mentions to be announced at the Craft Brew Expo (Starting at 1pm)

Entry Qualifications

Any and all beers entered must be of your own recipe and design. No clone beers or kit beers are to be accepted for judging. Entries are open to extract and all grain brewing methods alike.

Class 1

Entries must be presented in (2) capped brown unlabeled bottles with their entry number on a sheet of paper attached via rubber band to their bottles. You may drop off or mail in your entries to Golden Belt Bicycle Company (1111 Main, Great Bend, KS 67530) up to a week ahead of time. You may also drop them off the morning of the competition no later than 8:30am at the Expo 1 office at the Great Bend Expo Complex.

Class 2

Please bring at least (2) 64 oz growlers (or bottled equivalent) in each style of beer to be served to the VIP judges. Kegs will be allowed but CO2 bottles must be properly secured and treated in a safe manner as judged by the event staff. In the case that your CO2 setup does not pass inspection, we will have a bottle onsite to help you gas up your kegs.

More information will be supplied to competition participants as the event draws closer. We are limiting homebrew competition Class 2 Entries to 15 brewers. These slots may fill up fast so sign up soon!
